Mark Gowman whistle

Mark Gowman has been teaching Irish traditional music for the last fifteen years of a highly-respected two-decade teaching career. He and his trad music students have been heard on the famed Thistle and Shamrock radio program and have performed with some of the world's top Irish musicians, including Lunasa, Teada, Grada, and Karan Casey. He is the owner of Ceol Music & Ceol Press; director of the annual TradCamp, held in Rochester, NY each summer; co-director of the ROGUE music education conference; and author of Ceol: Learning and Teaching Irish Traditional Music. Mark regularly presents workshops on Irish music and music education at schools and conferences at the local, state, and national level. These include numerous sessions for the Eastman School of Music, Boston University, the Hochstein School, Nazareth College, the Rochester Flute Association, and the Erie County Music Education Association; the 2003, 2004, and 2012 New York State music education conferences; the ROGUE music education conference; and the Music Educators National Conference.
